Don't get me wrong, I think it's really cool to only have 2 active belts, with the DM title being the main belt, I just wondered if there was a reason to vacate them or what not.

Because no one cared about the other ones.

That's what I figured, but I wasn't sure if they had another reason or not.

think about it this way.
bjw is a deathmatch company, a world heavyweight should always be the premier title. if u want to headline in this company you have to be a deathmatch wrestler.
they very rarely have womens matches so a womens title is meaningless.
didnt czw steal the junior title? obviously it was forgotten.
the 8 man scramble title was probably a gimmick title at the time.

So much better with just the 2 me thinks... they gain importance rather than titles meaning nothing

I really like the fact that they only have 2 titles, and don't over defend them.

I agree. I have heard people complain that Ito didn't defend the DM title enough, but it gives the title much more prestige if it is only defended a couple of times a year. I guess it explains why they have so many 6-man matches.

No if it is only defended a couple times a year then its only a part time belt and that makes Ito a part time champion.

No if it is only defended a couple times a year then its only a part time belt and that makes Ito a part time champion. There's a fine line between over defending the main title (WWE) and something like BJW where the title only seems to get defended like 4 times a year. I think NOAH has the right idea with around 10 title defenses a year, that way a title match still means something (unlike in WWE), but they're not so sparse that the title is almost forgotten.

I could see defending the title 8-10 times a year, but when you defend a belt at nearly every show, it loses a lot of credibility.
