I like him beacuse for a big guy, he's a good wrestler...I think he's a big part of Big Japan, and is very entertaining out of deathmatches, and can get it done in them

As Kobayashi is my favorite BJW wrestyler I guess I should step in here. Kobayashi is probably the most charamismatic of the top BJW guys, he knows how to put together a well "wrestled" deathmatch, and has great timing, and fire in his matches. Since late 05 especially he's been awesome.
Reccomended Kobayashi matches:
Abdullah Kobayashi vs. Tomoaki Honma (02/22/00, Barbed Wire board, Ladder death match) – Great match here from when Honma was just on fire as the best deathmatch guy in the business. This was really the first time Kobayashi stepped up, and he did so in a great way. A BJW classic.
Abdullah Kobayashi vs. Ryuji Ito (12/24/03, BJW DM Title, 100 Light tubes, Cactus, Barbwire Boards, Caribbean Barbwire Ropes, and Plates of Glass Death Match) – NOW this is a GREAT deathmatch. Kobayashi challenges for Ito’s deathmatch title. This match has some great innovative spots with the tubes, and glass. Just a sick, bloody, almost perfect death match.
Abdullah Kobayashi Wedding Reception Commemoration Death Match: Abdullah Kobayashi & Naoki Numazawa vs. Madman Pondo & 2 Tuff Tony (12/10/04) – Talk about bizarre, Kobayashi competes in a deathmatch... then GETS MARRIED in the ring after the match!!! While he’s still bleeding!!! Garbage wrestling sleaze at it’s absolute best. How he talked his fiancée into this... I have no idea.
Abdullah Kobayashi & Daisuke Sekimoto vs. Naoki Numazawa & Jun Kasai (10/14/05, 250 Light tubes death match - BJW Tag Titles) – Awesome match here, my 2005 DMOTY runner up. One of the bloodiest matches you’ll ever see: filled with sick bumps, a rabid crowd, and actual “good” wrestling. Pure FUN.
Abdullah Kobayashi vs. Daisuke Sekimoto (11/22/05, 100 Light tubes #1 Contender Deathmatch) – My 2005 DMOTY. They make every light tube shot & bump count. Every time a light tube is used it has a purpose. It hurts. It matters. It's not just "I'll kick some light tubes into you! You smash some Light tubes on me!" over and over again. Sekimoto had a hell of year, but this match is all about Kobayashi kicking ass.
Abdullah Kobayashi vs. Ryuji Ito (12/21/05, BJW DM Title, Scaffold, 100 light tubes, Death match) – Kobayashi FINALLY wins the deathmatch title from BJW ace Ryuji Ito. Crazy match here with the usual light tube nuttiness, and some INSANE bumps from the scaffold. A true feel good moment.
Abdullah Kobayashi & Masada vs. Ryuji Ito & Takashi Sasaki (01/21/06, 100 Light tubes Death Match) – Super fun match here, with tons of tubes and near falls. Just all around fun.
Abdullah Kobayashi vs. Takashi Sasaki (03/31/06, BJW DM Title, 200 Fluorescent Light tubes, Nail cluster Death match) – My 2006 DMOTY. This might be the most fun I had watching a match this year, and is fast on its way to becoming by favorite deathmatch EVER. Just a brutal, violent, crazy ass deathmatch that was 10 shades of awesome. Kobayashi really shines in singles deathmatches, and this is his best ever. The nail bumps in this match were SICK. Watching someone try to pull the nails out of Sasaki's head at the end of this match, and they CAN’T because they're jammed in that DEEP, is one of the craziest things I've ever seen. Props to both guys for giving this title match a true "big match" feel. A hot crowd, actual wrestling, and sick near falls make this match an absolute deathmatch classic.
Abdullah Kobayashi & Mayumi Ozaki vs. Yuko Miyamoto & Kyoko Kimura (06/04/06, Mixed Gender Light Tube Death Match) – Men and Women fighting in a deathmatch with light tubes = a match that’s hard to watch. Very Brutal. Great match though.

yeah man, kobayashi is great, one of my faves for sure. he's very over with the crowds and has had some great matches. plus he's been around in bjw pretty much since the beggining.

i typically hate fat wrestlers but kobayashi is different. he has a great personality, a perfect sense of timing, takes a lot of punishment, and is a terrific wrestler for his size... and he wrestled an octopus!

Bigger guys typically dont do much for me either, but after a few kobayashi matches he earned my respect. Great charisma, good wrestling and lots of blood, what's not to like?

Watch his match vs Daisuke Sekimoto of late november 2005, and you will like him. A fat guy wearing a sumo outfit during a lightubes death match! Enough said.

He is one of the few people who can immediately put a smile on my face. You have to see him eating his "Death Match" noodles after his match on the 10/02/05 outdoor show. He also wrestled the 12/24/06 show with a little Christmas Teddy Bear hanging from his pants!
