i guess they might speak english depending on how much they pay attention in school. but i speak to them in japanese. cuz im cool like that. lol actually,, only one of my friends really knows english well enough to converse.
not sure how much height will do with it. especially if you go to Tokyo. a lot of my friends are pretty tall there. then again im kinda a small guy at only about 5'6. so a lot of people seem tall to me. lol. if you go to some country side place like Mie your height might be a bit more special i think.

Wow, thanks for these great tips so far!
I'm hoping to be going to Japan within years time with my younger brother and we want to go see Pro Wrestling NOAH. Hell if I can arrange both, maybe I'll try and get tickets for BJW.
Can alot of this stuff be applied to NOAH? Do you know if I might have a harder time getting tickets or whatnot? lol I know I'm coming off sounding naive but yeah...I appreciate anything you might be able to tell me that's helpful. Appreciated!

Noah usually runs a monthly show at Korakuen, and Korakuen is very good about advertising what promotion is running when. Another nice thing about Japanese wrestling promotions is that oftentimes they schedule their events so there isn't too much overlap.
One thing about NOAH: tickets are 2-3 times more expensive than BJW's. Super ringside for BJW is about 5,000 Yen. 5,000 Yen at a NOAH show will put you up in the cheap seats.

I never mentioned this (I don't know why), but there's a great bar near Korakuen that's dedicated to fighting sports. It's called Colloseo (コロッセオ) and fighters (including wrestlers) go there quite often. If you go in, tell Oomori (the owner, he has a really awesome mullet) that Anthony says hi. And don't touch Tomo-Chan, she's mine Here's the website www.colosseo.jp/

You don't need to be 18 to get into a show. Parents bring their kids to these shows (beats bringing them to see Cena, but that's a different story). Buying tickets might be a different story. Just ask someone to buy them for you, or look at the first post of this thread to find ways to buy the tickets at convenience stores.
The Tokyo Dome hotel is without a doubt the best hotel in the Tokyo Dome area. WWE and TNA wrestlers always stay there when they go to Japan. That being said, it's super freaking expensive (several hundreds of US dollars a night) to stay there.

What about the Tokyo Green Hotel? It's close to Korakuen Hall, right?

The Tokyo Green Hotel is probably has best value (money per comfort) of any hotel in that area. Or so I've been told. I stayed in a dormitory when I was in Japan.

I've heard different things about Ribera Steakhouse. The wrestlers probably love it as they get one of the legendary jackets, but the restaraunt is really small. I've head Mr. Danger's Steakhouse is much better.

Yeh Oormari is a cool dude, do you still keep in contact with him? He's currently planning to promote a middle age kickboxing event for septmber, so I was helping him out with some names for the show. For anyone that is planning on a long stay in Japan i deffinately recomend renting some videos from Champion as its a store dedicated to Wrestling/MMA video rentals, hell they have so much footage I decided I had to buy a VCR and educate myself

I email him every once in a while. I've been swamped with work on my thesis and applying to graduate school lately though.
